Altar Services

All St Jude Church members, who received first Holy Communion are invited to become an altar server in the church. The role of the Altar Server is to assist the priest before, during, and after the Holy Qurbana.
Currently altar servers are grouped into three teams named Berchmans, Savio and Bosco. The responsibilities included caring for the altar candles, bearing the cross and candles in the procession, assisting with holy water, water, wine and offertory gifts at Mass. They also assist the priest in reading various prayers during the Qurbana. A training session will be provided for new altar servers as needed. The responsibilities of the altar server will be discussed and experienced during the training session. Church also celebrates an ‘Altar Servers Day’ on the feast day of Saint Berchmans to recognize their service.
